Ladies, Gentlemen, Dear Friends,

It is with a heavy heart and much bitterness that we announce the abusive arrest of our brother, father, husband, and friend Jean-Patrice Tchatat since June 6, 2024 in Yaoundé. He was transferred to the SED, then to the Gendarmerie at the Port of Douala, and finally to the central prison of New-Bell without trial. Patrice was traveling to Cameroon in order to receive compensation because the world's leading shipping company Maersk International had lost his two 40-foot containers with very valuable merchandise. Since 2022, Maersk had been ordered by the Douala Court to pay the equivalents of the two containers . Maersk has not executed the Courts' decision. The consequences are catastrophic: Customers filing complaints, the stock of merchandise not yet shipped are being sold at auction, his cars have been seized, and we find ourselves in a series of legal proceedings to finance all these consequences. His family in Dallas is suffering all the consequences of everything going on. All personal and company accounts are frozen.

To pay the legal costs, to help Patrice's family, to pay off the creditors, we need your support. We hope that this mobilization will bear fruit and that Jean-Patrice will be released soon to reunite with his family and friends.
